Building a ‘Cadillac’ horse.
We all want a Cadillac horse.
The horse that you know you can take anywhere, and do anything with, and he remains confident, sound, trustworthy. He’s your mate, and you enjoy spending time together.
He is reliable, and you know you can count on him to load into the trailer, arrive at a new location calm and settled, willingly listen to you as you navigate the days events - be it a calm trail with friends, a show, a beach ride, or mustering some cattle. He trusts you to keep him sound in the body and the mind.
He is your Cadillac horse.
Over 10 days we will study all aspects of the horse and human:
Preserving curiosity and confidence in the horse
Functional movement and Biomechanics to keep him sound in his body.
Understanding the psychology of the horse - going beyond our simple understanding of ‘flight and fight’.
Using cross training to develop our specialist horse
‘Your horse (and you) can be confident in any situation, have a sound body and still have that magical spirit we are all attracted to. I first heard about the ‘Cadillac horse’ when I saw some Cadillac trail horses for sale at Will Howe Ranch. As soon as I heard the term, it perfectly described what we are trying to achieve with our own horses.
